Braughing Evensong - Sunday 21st September 2008

Our Local Area Chamber Choir has been busy again - this time singing Evensong in the delightful church of St Mary the Virgin, Braughing, near Ware.

23 singers from area choirs combined to rehearse and perform Hilton's Lord for thy tender mercies' sake, Smith Responses, sections of Psalm 119, Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis to Harwood in A flat and Ernest Bullock's Give us the Wings of faith, together with three hymns and Final Responses by Peter Hurford.

A good congregation came and sang heartily and appreciated the sermon preached by the Team Vicar, The Reverend Jeanette Gosney. Christopher Muhley conducted and was ably supported at the organ by Roger Carter.

This event was the second to be sung by our Local Area Chamber Choir and anyone who would like to be added to the list of volunteers should please let us know. By its very nature places are limited! The choir next sings at the 11.15am Choral Eucharist in St Albans Cathedral on Sunday 22nd February 2009.
