Choral Conducting masterclass for 16-25 year olds

There will be an exciting opportunity for aspiring young choral conductors (aged 16 to 25) to hone their skills under the direction of Adrian Lucas. This event was to take place on 25 April but will be rearranged for a later date once the current emergency situation has lifted.

Adrian has been Master of Choristers and Organist at Worcester Cathedral, Artistic Director to the Worcester Three Choirs Festival and Musical Director of the City of Birmingham Choir and he is now the RSCM’s Head of Choral Studies, as well as being the musical director of the Millennium Youth Choir.

If you would like to improve your technique by taking part in this masterclass, please contact Roger Carter (email indicating what your experience is. Places will be limited to five active participants. This masterclass will run from 10.00am to 12.30pm and a small group of experienced singers will be provided for you to work with on the morning.

A sandwich lunch will then be provided prior to Adrian directing a singing afternoon (1.30pm – 4.00pm) with a larger number of singers, in which you would also have the opportunity to participate and put into practice some of the skills you’d honed in the morning session.

There will be a charge of £10 for those taking part in this conducting class. Cheques should be made out to “RSCM St Albans Areaˮ.
