COME & SING EVENSONG at St Nicholas Harpenden

Sunday 28 July 2019 – join us for rehearsal, tea and Choral Evensong; 3.30pm for 6.30 service.

Experienced singers and music readers are invited to come and sing choral evensong on the day!

Churches around the country have been organising come and sing events for evensong, aimed at people who don’t have the chance to sing evensong regularly but do have the interest or ability to do so. They have proved very successful and enjoyable, so we are having one at the end of term. Anyone who would like to sing a one-off evensong, please do come and bring your friends. It’s free. Please pass on info to other local choirs and choral societies.

You can book online via our website where you can also find printable music and links to performances to listen to. The music is planned to include Parry’s I was Glad (composed for the Coronation of King Edward VII – see picture below) and Stanford in C Evening Canticles, so we will have a really good sing! No robing – wear what you like.

Tea and cake will be provided and if anyone could offer a cake or to help serve tea at about 5.30, please let Marie Price know.
